About the Role:
As the Manager of Design Technology Systems, you’ll be the driving force behind the implementation, support, and continuous evolution of the firm’s design tools and systems—including Civil 3D, the Autodesk AEC Suite, Bluebeam, LandFX, and more. Your work will directly enhance the quality, speed, and consistency of project delivery across our core service lines: Civil Engineering, Survey, Planning and Landscape Architecture, supporting multidisciplinary excellence throughout the organization.
This is a highly collaborative and influential role that sits at the crossroads of technology, operations, and end-user experience. You’ll partner with stakeholders across engineering, IT, and design teams to ensure our systems don’t just function—they perform.

What You'll Do:
System Leadership & Innovation
- Configure, deploy, and optimize design tools like Civil 3D, Bluebeam, LandFX and GIS across service lines.
- Lead the evolution of our Civil 3D environment, from custom profiles to automation enhancements.
- Manage software testing cycles (beta, pilot) and coordinate upgrade timelines and rollouts.
User Enablement & Collaboration
- Provide expert-level (Tier 2/3) support and serve as a technical mentor to staff.
- Translate user feedback into system improvements and champion scalable solutions.
- Partner with IT, senior design tech managers, and project teams to ensure systems align with real-world workflows.
Quality, Standards & Performance
- Ensure configurations align with internal and client standards.
- Continuously assess system performance and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.
- Keep our teams ahead of the curve by attending relevant conferences and staying current on emerging trends.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Deliver onboarding and ongoing training (virtual, in-person, and self-guided).
- Maintain and enhance technical documentation in our LMS and Knowledge Management platforms.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through mentorship and support.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience managing CAD/design technology systems, ideally in land development and survey.
- Expertise in installation, configuration, support and optimization of Civil 3D, Bluebeam, LandFX, GIS and other engineering and survey software that support our service lines.
Preferred:
- Proven success in software configuration, process improvement, and user support.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
