Responsibilities
Planning, directing, and coordinating operations, including project managers, staff surveyors, technicians, and field operations
- Personnel management, proposal generation, and business development
- Manage master contracts including fee estimation, project set-up, and execution of work
- Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks and ensure compliance with scope and timely completion
- Prepare client invoices, deliverables, and project-related correspondence
- Responsible for accuracy, timeliness, and financial performance of assigned projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or related field required
- 15 + years of experience required with a minimum of:
- 5 years in a personnel management capacity
- 5 years in a business development capacity
- Professionally licensed in land surveying in the state of Virginia or ability to obtain license within 6 months
- Licensure in other jurisdictions a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead staff, think critically, and provide support to multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus
- Ability to prepare and review technical proposals
- Successfully oversee the production of ALTA, Topographic, Boundary, utility and route survey
