  • Overview

    Our Warren, NJ office is looking for a Director of Landscape Architecture with an entrepreneurial spirit who can establish, nurture and grow a land planning and landscape architectural practice here in the Garden State with Bohler.

    Responsibilities

    • Apply diversified knowledge of planning and landscape architecture principles and practices in broad areas
    • Manage development of design staff
    • Establish land planning and landscape architectural fundamental practices
    • Active involvement in business development – including initial participation in creation of a targeted BD list of potential meetings
    • Provide guidance in the master planning and site-specific design process including conceptual site plans through construction documents and specifications
    • Coordinate the preparation of project drawings, exhibits, and calculations with other architects, engineers, designers and technicians
    • Collaborate with internal and external clients on the design process
    • Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies and others as appropriate to the project
    • Review proposals and contracts
    • Prepare project related correspondence as appropriate
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
    • 7+ years of experience in Landscape Architecture within the private land development industry; RLA preferred
    • Strong written, verbal and graphic communication skills
    • Production experience with AutoCAD (Civil3D), Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and SketchUp preferred
    • High energy, creative, flexible, self-starter who is willing to work at a dynamic pace and lead others
    • Proven track record of success dealing with project team members including experience developing staff
    • Possess contract and client management skills
    • Ability to integrate seamlessly into and lead both multi-disciplinary design teams, as well as, urban design/planning teams strongly preferred
