  • Overview

    Bohler Engineering seeks a respected and passionate design professional interested in formalizing the firm’s planning and landscape architecture practice in the southern region, which consists of six offices in the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and Texas. This position joins existing director roles in our Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, and would be focused on developing and leading a regional practice through business development, technical leadership and creative design solutions.

Qualified candidates for this senior position will have built a strong project portfolio and industry relationships that set them apart and generate business. Additionally, they will be able to demonstrate this type of credibility within the geographic footprint.


    Additionally, this position will include the development and mentorship of design professionals in the region.  Occasional travel to support this effort, as well as project opportunities and industry events, will be expected. It is not anticipated that average travel would exceed 30-40 percent of overall work hours.


    • Streamline, lead and grow the planning and landscape architecture practice line for the Southern region
    • Coordinate and collaborate with other regional practice leads
    • Generate new business opportunities through securing new project opportunities through the position of Bohler's planning and landscape architecture services
    • Dotted-line responsibility to local design staff: focus on staff mentoring/development, resource planning, and service expansion
    • Participate in industry organizations and associations central to growing the service line
    • Budgeting and financial management
    • Regular travel to regional offices and projects as required (travel approx. 30-40% of time)


    • Strong project portfolio and industry relationships with the potential to generate business
    • Demonstrated success leading and growing a practice within a design/planning, civil or related professional organization operating in commercial and residential real estate markets. Other market expertise will be considered.
    • Regional credibility and experience within key markets in the southern region, primarily Georgia, Texas, The Carolinas and Florida.
    • Demonstrated interest/capabilities in business development and business expansion
    • Strong project and financial management skills
    • Experience and desire to develop and mentor junior professionals
